Yeazhin phuntsho Penjor is 1 year and 3 months old and is the only child in his family. His father, Dr. Kunga Penjor, works as a dentist and his mother, Tandin Pemo, works as an electrical engineer. Yeazhin phuntsho Penjor lives in the capital city, Thimpu. When Yeazhin phuntsho Penjor was 3 months old, he was not feeling well and had a fever, so his mother took him to see a doctor. The doctor examined him and found that he had congenital heart disease with multiple blood vessels (PDA), so they contacted him at 99 Bhutanese children’s heart surgery project to dedicate merit to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Thai – Bhutan Save Blue Heart Project) under the care of the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation
Thimpu Yeazhin Phuntsho Penjor traveled to Thailand on January 4, 2017 and underwent surgery to tie off the extra blood vessels (PDA Clipping) at the Heart Disease Center, Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital on Saturday, January 7, 2017. The surgery went well until Yeazhin was able to leave the hospital on January 10, 2017.
On Wednesday, January 18, 2017, Yeazhin returned for a physical examination and a post-operative chest X-ray at Rajavithi Hospital. The surgery result was satisfactory. Yeazhin and his family will return to Bhutan on Thursday, January 19, 2017.
