Zu Zu is the second child of Aug BO BO OO and MAW KHWEI, both Burmese. They came to work in Thailand about 10 years ago. They currently work as construction workers at a construction site in Samut Prakan Province. Their father is a construction supervisor who earns 450 baht per day for 5 years. Their mother is a cleaner who earns 260 baht per day. She works sometimes and sometimes not because she has to take care of Su Su. On days she comes to work, she takes her brother with her.
Zu Zu has one older brother who is 5 years old. He was diagnosed with heart disease like Zu Zu. He had surgery when he was 3 years old. He had to pay for the surgery himself without any help from any agency. His son is currently healthy but lives with his grandmother in Burma.
Zu Zu was born in Burma and was fine. Three months after giving birth, his mother brought him back to live with his father in Thailand. At that time, he was not feeling well, so they took him to Samut Prakan Hospital. The doctor listened to his heartbeat and suspected heart disease. He was sent to the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health for further treatment. After an echo, he found extra blood vessels. The doctor recommended surgery.
Generally, Zu Zu is sick often, has a fever, and a cold. Each time it takes a long time to recover.
Zu Zu became a patient under the care of the foundation. The doctor who treated her sent her because she did not have any medical rights. Zu Zu underwent surgery on June 5, 2014, through the cooperation between Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation and Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital, without any expenses. After the surgery, Zu Zu was a very cheerful child, smiling a lot, different from before the surgery.
The father was grateful that there were kind donors who helped with the surgery costs. He would like to thank them very much.
