Miss Nanthida Phansuwan or Nong Fai is the daughter of her mother, Pai Rueanrom, 31 years old, who works as a construction worker. Her father, Master Thongchat Phansuwan, is also 31 years old, who is also a construction worker. She currently lives at a construction site in Rangsit Khlong 4, earning about 350 baht per day. She has two children, the oldest of whom is an 11-year-old girl who is currently studying in Phichit Province, living with her grandparents.
Her mother told us that she originally lived in Kamphaeng Phet, but came down to work as a construction worker in Bangkok when she was pregnant with Nong Fai. She went to the hospital as usual and went for checkups all the time, but the doctor did not inform her that there were any abnormalities. She gave birth at a hospital in Prachin Buri Province, because her mother and father were working at a construction site in that area at the time.
After giving birth to Nong Fai, her mother brought her back to live at home, which was in a construction worker camp in Prachin Buri Province as before. After bringing her back for about 8 days, her mother noticed that she was easily tired and sucking less milk, so she took Fai to see the doctor at Sri Maha Pho Hospital. The doctor saw that Fai was getting more tired, so he sent her to Prachinburi Hospital for further treatment. Fai had to stay in the hospital for about 3 months. The doctor informed her that Fai had a congenital heart disease with a heart septal defect, so he let her stay in the hospital for observation because she was still young. After her symptoms improved, she was discharged from the hospital to continue her treatment at her house in the workers’ camp and had her symptoms monitored continuously.
Until the doctor contacted the Pediatric Heart Surgery Support Foundation when she was about 9 months old, so they scheduled her for her first surgery on January 15, 2015 at the Pediatric Heart Surgery Support Foundation’s Heart Center at Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital. After that, she still had to come for continuous monitoring.
But Fai started to become more cyanotic, got sick often, and had a balled finger. Until the doctor performed the second surgery on December 10, 2015, but because she had a complicated heart disease, she underwent the third surgery on December 12, the fourth on December 14, and the fifth on December 18, 20150 to correct the abnormalities. She had to stay at Rajavithi Hospital for almost a month before she could go home to continue her treatment. She still had to come for continuous monitoring. However, she started to get tired easily and her body became more cyanotic. So the doctor performed the sixth surgery on Fai on January 18, 2017. After this surgery, her symptoms clearly improved. She had more energy and didn’t get tired easily. She was able to play and be more playful. She ate more. We hope that she will grow up to be a good child.
