Nong Kanyanat Paengsri or Nong French Fry is the daughter of Ms. Kai Kaew Mi Peng, a general laborer living in Amnat Charoen Province. Ms. Kai Kaew told us that she had a cesarean section at Mukdahan Hospital. After giving birth, the doctor informed her that her body was cyanotic, which made her suspect that she had a congenital heart defect. However, since the hospital did not have a specialist, they sent her to Ubon Ratchathani Hospital for treatment. Nong French Fry had to stay at Ubon Ratchathani Hospital for about a week. The doctor informed her that the results of her detailed examination found that she had a congenital heart defect, with alternating coronary arteries. If she did not receive surgery as soon as possible, she would only live for about 2 weeks. Initially, the doctors at Ubon Ratchathani Hospital performed initial surgery to treat her symptoms and then sent her to the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health or Children’s Hospital. The Children’s Hospital contacted the foundation to urgently send her for surgery at Rajavithi Hospital.
Nong French Fry underwent surgery on February 26, 2022, and the surgery went smoothly. After about a week in the ICU, she was able to be moved to the cardiac surgery ward to continue her recovery. Her condition gradually improved and she was able to return home to her mother and family.
The mother was happy and thanked all the doctors and nurses who helped her grow up like other children.
