Master Thorathawat Pinthu is the son of Mrs. Chaliao Thanonlak, 37 years old. She has 2 children, the oldest son and the youngest son is 9 years old. He is a normal child. His mother said that her mother and father used to work as construction workers. When she was pregnant with Nong Cheep, she had severe morning sickness, so she had to quit her job and go back to live with her grandparents in Sa Kaeo Province. She left her father to work in Bangkok alone. Her mother went to Ta Phraya Hospital in Sa Kaeo Province for prenatal care. She went for checkups regularly and the doctor said that her son was normal. Until about 6 months into the pregnancy, she started to have swelling. Her body was so swollen that she couldn’t even wear underwear. So she went to see the doctor. The doctor said that there was nothing wrong. Then, at 8 months, her mother started to have severe headaches. So she went to see the doctor. When he measured her blood pressure, it was 130-140. So the doctor gave her an injection and had her stay in the hospital to prepare for a C-section. Since the mother had very high blood pressure, there was a risk of harm to both the mother and the child.
When the baby was born by cesarean section, it was found that the baby had rapid breathing and was cyanotic, so the baby had to be in the incubator at the hospital for 22 days before being sent to Chanthaburi Hospital for further treatment. After 3 days, Chanthaburi Hospital sent the baby to the Children’s Hospital for further treatment. The baby stayed in the hospital for 2-3 days and when the symptoms improved, he was able to go home. There were also regular appointments for follow-up. When the baby was 2.5 years old, the Children’s Hospital contacted the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation to perform surgery on the baby. The baby had the first surgery on September 11, 2018 at the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation’s Heart Surgery Center, Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital. The second and third surgeries were performed on September 13, 2018 at Rajavithi Hospital. This time, the baby had to be hospitalized for a total of 18 days. Before the surgery, the mother said that the baby often got sick, but after the surgery, the baby became much stronger. Whenever he had a cold, he would see the doctor and take medicine and it would go away. No need to stay in hospital like before
My mother said that since her father passed away in 2017 from an accident falling from a scaffolding while working in construction, it has been very difficult because her mother has to work alone but has to take care of 5 lives. She took Nong Cheep and her youngest child to stay with her grandparents in Sa Kaeo because she had to work as a construction worker in Bangkok. Grandpa is over 90 years old and is not very strong, so he cannot work. Grandma had an accident that caused her wrist tendons to break, making her disabled. She cannot work either. So her mother works alone to support the whole family. When Nong needs to come for a checkup, she has to take a bus back to pick her up from her home in Sa Kaeo to go to Bangkok for a checkup. After that, she has to take her back to her grandparents’ house and then she can go back to work. Her mother’s daily wages only earn her 300 baht, but she has to support 5 lives. Her mother said that some months she has to go without money to send money to her family. If Nong gets sick that month, she has to spend even more money. However, her mother said that she will not abandon Nong Cheep and will try to work to raise Nong Cheep to grow up to be a good person in society.
