Nong Odon or the foreigner child of the nurses because he is a fair-skinned child with big eyes and a face like a mixed-race child. He is the son of mother Phennapha, 33 years old, and father Prasong, 39 years old. His family sells fruit in a fresh market in Ubon Ratchathani Province.
He was born at Saraprasit Prasong Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani Province. When he was born, whenever he cried, he would have cyanosis. So the doctor had to do an echo when he was 4 days old. The results showed that he had a heart disease. So he was sent to the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health for further treatment when he was 20 days old. The doctor gave him medication and monitored his condition continuously.
While waiting for the surgery and waiting for him to gain enough weight for the surgery, Nong Odon lived up to his name. He would get sick often, get tired easily, and be out of breath. He couldn’t play for long. When he cried, he would be clearly cyanosis because he was a fair-skinned child. Until Nong Odon underwent surgery with the Pediatric Heart Surgery Support Foundation at Rajavithi Hospital on August 3, 2009. After the surgery, his condition clearly improved. He didn’t have cyanosis, didn’t get tired easily, and started to be playful. He could walk and run like other children.
